Diggy: Maya ran a better govt than SP

AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh feels the earlier Mayawati-led BSP government was better than the SP government led by Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh.

“The SP government’s track-record in this tenure is bad. Haven’t been able to control communal forces in Uttar Pradesh, even BSP’s was better,” Mr Singh wrote on Twitter on Sunday. Targeting the Akhilesh government after the communal violence in UP’s Muzaffarnagar district, Mr Singh also attacked the BJP, saying non-BJP ruled states must be “more careful” now. He added: “I appeal to all in Muzaffarnagar and other areas of western UP to bring peace and to fight communal forces.” He also condemned Kashmir’s separatists for opposing reno-wned conductor Zubin Mehta’s concert in Srina-gar on Saturday: “Music bonds, which divisive forces oppose... Wish I was there to see him perform.”
