Didn't seek case against Azhar: Kin
Ajmal’s father Khaleeq-ur-Rahman on Monday denied that he had asked the police to register a case against former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin and his family, holding them responsible for the death of his son.
Ajmal was pillion-riding the super bike driven by Azharuddin’s son Ayazuddin on Sunday morning on the Outer Ring Road when they met with an accident. Ajmal died while Ayazuddin is battling for life in a corporate hospital. Ajmal was the son of Azharuddin’s sister.
There were reports that Mr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, a Congress leader, had lodged a complaint with the police against his brother-in-law Azharu-ddin, holding him responsible for the accident. But the former MP denied that he had lodged the complaint. “We are together sharing our grief. It’s not true that I have lodged a complaint,” he said.
However, the Cyberabad police said a case was booked after the accident. They said Khaleeq-ur-Rahman had asked them to take necessary action.
Mr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman was in tears and looked as if he hadn’t slept or eaten after hearing the news of the death of his son.
