Did ‘jinx’ get Akhilesh to avoid Noida?
Did the “Noida jinx” keep UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav out of the satellite township adjoining Delhi on Tuesday when he announced a large number of projects there? It seems so, as the CM inaugurated them all from his 5 Kalidas Marg residence in Lucknow and spoke to Noida officials via video-conferencing.
The grapevine is abuzz with tales of the “jinx” that has apparently cost several UP CMs their job after visiting Noida.

War of words in JPC over PM testimony
Age Correspondent
New Delhi, April 2
A day after senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha wrote a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him to appear before the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the 2G spectrum scam, committee chairman P.C. Chacko, a senior Congress leader, said on Tuesday that it was a “political stunt” and was “against established norms”. Mr Sinha, a JPC member, alleged that former communications minister A. Raja was being prevented from deposing before the panel as this would lead to “serious trouble” for both the PM and finance minister P. Chidambaram.
