Diagnosed with viral fever but Hazare adamant on Mumbai fast
Diagnosed with viral fever, 74-year-old Anna Hazare is adamant that his three-day fast be held in Mumbai after which he will proceed to New Delhi for a dharna.
"I will hold a dharna outside Congress president Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s house in New Delhi. I am ready to face lathis during this agitation. There are some people waiting to see that his agitation takes a violent turn and hence you should see to it that the agitation happens peacefully," said Mr. Hazare, while addressing the media at the gram sabha of his home village Ralegan Siddhi on Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, doctors checked Mr. Hazare on Sunday after which it was revealed that he is still unwell.
“Anna has been running 101 degrees fever,” said D. Pote, the doctor who examined Mr. Hazare.
“Anna has been diagnosed with viral fever and the doctors have said that by Monday evening he should be normal. He (Anna) kept his speech short and his voice was also faint,” said Sanjay Pathare, a close aide of Mr Hazare.
Meanwhile, the anti-corruption crusader will arrive in Mumbai on Monday evening. Mr. Hazare will leave Ralegan Siddhi at 3 pm. On his way, Mr Hazare plans to visit the Sant Dnyaneshwar Samadhi at Alandi near Pune.
“Anna will stay at a government guest house in Bandra,” said Datta Aawari, another close aide of Mr Hazare.
