Dhaka set to deport Ulfa’s Chetia soon
Union home ministry sources told this newspaper Wednesday that the Bangladesh government had started the process of handing over detained Ulfa leader Anup Chetia, confirming reports in Dhaka that he had been
released, following home minister P. Chidambaram’s recent visit. Bangladesh had earlier rejected his plea for asylum. A delegation of pro-talk Ulfa leaders, meanwhile, left for New Delhi Wednesday to start first round of formal talks with the Centre.
