Anantapur: The management of BNR Educational Society locked up district education officer D. Madhusudan Rao, who went to serve notice, asking the school to vacate the land from where it was operating as it belonged to the government.

According to sources, the government had served notices asking the previous management of St Joseph’s School to vacate the land as it belonged to Missamma.

As per the notice, the government cancelled the recognition of the school for 2013-14 and asked the management not to open the school.

However, the management of BNR Educational Society took up the school and continued it in 2013-14. When the DEO went to serve notices, the management tore the notices up and locked him up in a room. The DEO served the notices on the school management as per the Land Acquisition Act.

Immediately DSP Dayananda Reddy went to the school and rescued the DEO. The DEO said that the management was running school violating all rules and regulations.

Later Anantapur MLA B. Gurunath Reddy staged a dharna in front of the school protesting the DEO’s action. The MLA said the lives of students and teachers would be spoiled if the DEO closes the school and cancels its recognition.

The DEO told that he would accommodate the children in recognised schools within 10 days. The DEO said that he would inform higher officials about the school teachers and do justice to them. Following the assurance given by the DEO, the MLA called off his protest. Later, the DEO served notices and seized the records of school.

Meanwhile the teachers associations of Anantapur called for a schools bandh on June 17 protesting against the lockup of the DEO by the BNR management. The association said that DEO served notices as per the directions of collector. They demanded that criminal cases should be booked against the management of BNR.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
