Delhi techie stabbed, car stolen
A young software professional was stabbed by unidentified assailants and fled away with his car and other valuables in northeast Delhi’s Harsh Vihar on Tuesday.
The victim identified as Vivek Choudhary was returning home in his Hyundai Santro car after dropping one of his friends at the IGI airport. The police said the incident took place at around 1.45 am on Sewadham Road in Harsh Vihar area.
“The victim was driving slow on the Sewadham Road due to bad road condition when an assailant surfaced besides the vehicle and grabbed the keys of his car. The assailant was soon joined by others who forced him out of the car. When he resisted, they stabbed him twice in his shoulder and thigh with a sharp-edged weapon, which left him injured. The accused then escaped in his car along with his cell phone and wallet,” a senior police official said.
The victim was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital from where doctors referred him to St. Stephen’s Hospital. “His condition is stable,” a doctor at the hospital said.
The police said a case has been registered with regard at Harsh Vihar police station.
Vivek works at a private company located at Bhikaji Cama Place in south Delhi. He lives with his parents at C4/303 at Yamuna Vihar in north-east Delhi’s Bhajanpura.
