Decide naidu plea in 15 days, sc tells ap hc
The Supreme Court on Wednesday though declined to admit the appeals against the Andhra Pradesh high court order for the CBI and other agencies probe against TDP leader and former CM Chandrababu Naidu and some of his party colleagues in alleged assets and money laundering cases but the top court gave them substantial relief asking the HC to give them proper hearing.
Since the probe against Mr Naidu and other TDP leaders and some of their companies was passed by the HC on November 14 without issuing notices to them, a bench of Justices Dalveer Bhandari, T.S. Thakur and Dipak Misra asked the HC to decide their petitions within 15 days giving them proper hearing on their plea for “withdrawing or vacating” the order passed.
“We are not inclined to intervene but we give liberty to the petitioners to approach the HC for withdrawal or vacating the order passed on November 14,” the top court said adding “we request the HC to dispose of their petitions within 15 days. We have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.”
The order was passed on the appeals of TDP vice-president C.M. Ramesh, Ramoji Rao and Madhucan Sugar.
