Dec. 16 witness sticks to stand
The carpenter, who was allegedly assaulted and robbed by six accused who later fatally gangraped a girl on December 16, reiterated in the fast-track court here on Friday that only they had committed the offence.
Ramadhar, who appeared as prosecution witness before additional sessions judge Yogesh Khanna, pointed at each of the four accused present in the court room saying they are the same persons who had robbed and caused injuries to him and later pushed him off the bus in a manner that he would come under the wheels.
“It was because of God that I survived otherwise on December 16, 2012 they would have killed me,” he told the judge adding that he is not lying.
He said he had boarded the bus for Khanpur but the moment one of them said that it will be going to some other destination, he tried to get off but the accused stopped him and asked Mukesh to speed up.
“It is wrong to suggest that I had given a false statement or that I was shown photographs of the accused persons in the police station or that for that reason I had identified them or that I was informed about the description of the accused outside the court or that the police had made me sign on blank papers or that accused had not robbed me of my mobile phone or my money,” Ramadhar said during his cross-examination.
Rejecting the allegation of the counsel for accused that he had not boarded the bus on the night of the incident and was not robbed, Ramadhar said Akshay Thakur is the person who pulled him back in the bus while he was trying to deboard.
He identified Mukesh as the person who was driving the bus and Vinay Sharma and Pawan Gupta as the ones who beat him up and robbed him.
Referring to the juvenile accused and deceased Ram Singh, Ramadhar said two persons, who were in the bus, are not present in the court room.
