The Dalai Lama highlights need for meditation
Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Thursday said meditation could play a very positive role for the youth to prevent them from straying from the path of peace, non-violence and brotherhood.
Lama reached Salugara monastery here this morning, from neighbouring Sikkim amidst tight security.
The Dalai Lama is scheduled to address religious gatherings till on Friday morning and will leave for Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh in the afternoon, officials said.
Addressing a gathering of followers, he said, "Meditation could play a very positive role for the youth, especially when a large number of them have strayed from the path of peace, non-violence and brotherhood."
General secretary of Himalayan Boudhya Sanskriti Samiti, Saman Lendun Lama said thousands of Buddhists from different parts of the country have thronged here on the visit of the spiritual leader.
