Dad wants law to be named on her
The father of the Delhi gangrape victim has now asked the Centre to name the proposed new anti-rape law after his daughter. He said that this will be an honour for his daughter and also a sign of respect to public sentiments.
The father told a news agency in Ballia on Thursday, “We will be upset if the anti-rape law is not named after my daughter. It will be recognition of her fight against the incident and if there is any problem in doing so due to constitutional provisions, the government can easily amend the rules. The people of this country also want this.”
The father further said that he was satisfied with the action taken by the Delhi police so far but wanted speedy justice for his daughter.
He also urged the UP government to set up a hospital in his village in Ballia district named after his daughter since it was her wish to do so.
It may be recalled that on Wednesday, BSP president Mayawati had supported the idea of naming the anti-rape law after the Delhi victim.
“If the family of the victim has given its approval to the law being named after the rape victim I have no objection to it. The Central government should convene an all-party meeting and take a decision in consensus with everyone,” she had said.

Atul Krishan
New Delhi. Jan. 3
The Delhi police has got the forensic report of the DNA examination of the skin and hair of 23-year-old gangrape victim and her male friend. A police source said the forensic report was prepared at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) Delhi. However, senior police officials were tight-lipped about the content of the report. The police recovered hair strands of the victim and her male friend a day after the incident from inside the bus in which the incident took place.
The victim’s skin sample was retrieved from the nails of the key accused Ram Singh. “The nail and hair were examined by the CFSL. The report has been received by the police. It says that the skin found in the nail of Ram Singh was of the victim. It also has established that the hair, recovered by the police were of the victim and her male friend. This report will help the police to prove the six persons guilty before the court,” a source said. The police is yet to get the ossification report of the sixth accused who is said to be a juvenile. “Police will file a supplementary chargesheet if ossification report will establish his age to be above 18,” added the source.
