CWG cases on 8 govt officials
Having registered cases for alleged irregularities involving members of the Common-wealth Games organising committee, the CBI has begun to move towards other agencies accused of malpractices related to the Games.
It registered three cases on Thursday against eight senior government officials, including two of the Central Public Works Department and six of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), over the award of contracts for renovation and construction of two Games venues.
The CBI carried out searches at the premises of officials of the NDMC, CPWD, consultants and companies at over 20 places in three cities in this connection.
