Man kills wife’s lover in Chennai
Chennai: A man killed his wife's paramour in a fit of rage after he saw him with his wife at his residence in Maduravoyal in the early hours of Sunday.
According to the police, painter Sakthivel, 33, was living with his wife, Bhuvaneshwari, 25 and three children at their residence in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Alapakkam. Primary investigations revealed the man's wife was in an illicit relationship with Sathish of Nerkundram. The couple was known to have had frequent arguments over the same, police said.
On Saturday night around 8 pm, the husband had stormed out of his house after an argument. While returning at around 12.30 am, he saw his wife with her paramour. Infuriated by this, he took a kitchen knife and stabbed him while the man tried to escape, a release by the police said. The victim who suffered serious injuries had died on the spot.

3-yr-old girl raped in school
Lucknow: A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified person in her school in Cantt area here, police said today.
The girl, a student of lower KG, returned home from school with injuries on her body yesterday, after which her mother rushed her to hospital where doctors confirmed that she was sexually assaulted, police said.
The victim, daughter of an Army man, told her mother that it was the act of her "Sir," after which police is suspecting that a school teacher or staff member might be behind the crime. An FIR under IPC section 376 (rape) has been registered. No arrests have been made so far in this connection.

Man kills brother-in-law
Howrah: A man has surrendered to police after allegedly killing his brother-in-law for having illicit relation with his wife at Lolitagori in Howrah district, police said on Monday.
Sk Hidyatullah killed his brother-in-law Sk Zakir Hossain (26) with a sharp weapon for having illicit relation with his wife in his house last night.
After the incident, Hidyatullah suurendered to local police. Police is investigating the case.

Chennai: At least three women passengers who were traveling to Chennai in the S-12 coach of Sethu express on Friday night were relieved of their gold chains, weighing over 12 sovereigns, by gang of robbers, when the train crossed Dalmiya­puram station.
“One of the victims tried to fight the robber and managed to save half of her chain. The victims have been identified as Meenakshi Narayanan, 72 of Tambaram, Noori­nisha, 27 of Chromepet and Prema, 40 of Mambalam, the railway police said.

2 notorious robbers nabbed
Kochi: Ernaku­lam South Police on Su­nday arrested two notorious robbers from Tamil Nadu who had committed several robberies in the city. The arrested, identified as Pandurangan and Subb­arayan, were planning further robberies in Kochi when they fell in police net. Pa­ndurangan was arrested from Pallimukku in Kochi and Subbarayan from Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu.
According to police, the duo had robbed Rs 45,000 from an exporting company on Sreekandath Road, Rs 25,000 from a chartered accountant’s office, Rs  21,000 from a computer shop, a laptop worth Rs 1 lakh from a real estate office in a shopping complex on Kurishupally Road, a laptop worth Rs 40,000 from a shipping company’s office near Ravipuram and ano­ther laptop worth Rs 38,000 from a computer shop near Pallimukku. The two were staying in a lodge on MG Road and operating the robberies. The robbed money and laptops were stored in the lodge room.
“Both of them reached Kochi from Chennai on August 25. The duo was planning more robberies in Kochi. Pandurangan was arrested on Saturday morning when he was found suspiciously roaming around.
We took him in custody, but he did not spill any details. Subbara­yan made a call to Pand­urangan’s phone from a telephone booth in the city. When we picked up the phone he asked if there was any problem. So we quiz­zed Pandurangan again and thus he confessed to the robberies,” said Gopakumar, SI.

Kozhikode: The Kozhikode Town Police had registered a case against 27-year old youth identified as Shinu for posting morphed picture of industries minister PK Kunhalikutty with the solar scam accused Saritha Nair in the Facebook.
The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by an official from the office of the industries department. The complaint said that the posting was an attempt to defame the public personality of the industries minister.
The police had registered the case under the relevant provisions of the IT Act. The police however had not arrested the culprit so far.

Hyderabad: The police has busted a Pune-based gang involved in several cases of cheating people of cash and gold ornaments posing as police officers. Nine members of the gang were arrested from Mumbai while a lookout is on for more, Crime branch officials said on Sunday.
In filmy style the gangsters used to pose as police officers, constables and as bystanders to fool people. Police said the gang was involved in 53 cases in and around the city.
Members of the gang would pose as constables and as higher officers and would be on the lookout for gullible persons. They would fool women saying that a notorious criminal has murdered a person in the locality after stealing ornaments and would ask them to put theirs in a bag. To gain their confidence, one of the gangsters posing as a local would be asked to do the same.
Subsequently, the real ornaments would be replaced with fake ones the criminals have, and they would leave the city and sell them elsewhere.
"The gang committed offences here, in Karnataka and in Maharashtra. Nine gangsters were arrested with the help of Mumbai police," crime branch officials said in a release. Two of those nabbed are from Andhra Pradesh while others hail from Mumbai and Pune.The accused have been booked under several sections of the IPC for cheating and impersonation. The gang was involved in mainly attention diversion offences targeting women and people exiting banks. They operated mainly in cities like Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: A web designer and his two associates were arrested for allegedly fabricating fake certificates. They used to charge Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 for each certificate.
Police arrested the trio after raiding their office in Sha Ali Banda. Cops said 29-year-old web designer Syed Bilal Quadri and his two aides produced documents like voter ID cards, registration certificates of vehicles, employee ID cards, birth and death certificates.
Additional DCP Limba Reddy said that Bilal’s aide Rizwan, 21, from Basarathnagar, does online passport submission, and came into contact with some people who wanted documents.
“Rizwan takes orders from customers, and informs Bilal. After preparing the documents in his shop named Colors Pix at Shah Ali, he hands over the documents through the third accused Iqbal Ali,” said Limba Reddy.
The police seized seven fake voter IDs, two fake birth certificates, two death certificates including a certificate in the name of one Mohammed Waheeduddin who is alive, six fake vehicle registration certificatess, eight fake GHMC employee ID cards, four round stamps prepared in the name of Registrar of Births and Deaths, Charminar and Abids Circles No.4 & 8, of South/Central Zones, GHMC, 17 driving licenses, 10 Aadhaar cards, and 20 registration certificates belonging to different people.
The police has asked the public not to go for fake certificates. The public should approach the concerned government departments, police said.

Hyderabad: A 24-year-old youth hailing from Odisha was allegedly hacked to death by a person hailing from his own village at Charlapally in the wee hours of Sunday.
The victim, Vijay Sen Naik, a construction worker, was found dead in his room by his colleagues. Police suspect the assailant, Dasharath, who was involved in the murder of the victim’s father six years ago, came out on bail, traced the victim and killed him fearing revenge.Kushaiguda police said that Vijay Naik was hit with a shovel by the assailant on the head. “The victim died due to a serious head injury. Vijay Naik was resting in his room at Railway quarters when he was attacked,” said Shankaraiah, the sub-inspector of Kushaiguda.
Vijay Naik, came to Hyderabad a week ago from his village in Koraput with his brother for construction work.and was staying at the Railway quarters.
In the police complaint, victim’s brother alleged that Dasharath, who came few days ago to the city, killed his brother expecting a revenge for his father’s murder.
“Victim’s father was killed six years ago, and Dasharath was convicted after his alleged involvement in the murder. Victim’s brother alleged that Dasharath is behind this murder also,” said a police official from Kushaiguda.
Though cops have booked a case under IPC section 302 for murder, no one is arrested yet.copy

Bengaluru: Three men, claiming to be policemen, conned a woman and escaped with her gold ornaments near Kodichikkanahalli   Main Road in Hongasandra in Madivala police station limits on Sunday morning.
Gangamma, 50, a resident of Vivekanandanagar is the victim. Police said she was going to buy milk in the morning when three persons approached her. They claimed they were policemen and there was a murder in the vicinity, and it was not safe to wear jewels.
They reportedly asked her to remove her gold chain and keep it safe. As she removed, they took it telling that they would make it safe and wrapped it in a paper and gave it back to her before leaving.
“After a while she opened the paper to realise that she had lost her 56 grams of gold chain. Later she filed a complaint,” the police added. Madivala police have registered a case and are investigating.

Chennai: A software engineer’s wife committed suicide by consuming poison at her residence on Satur­day night in Taramani, allegedly due to dowry harassment. Identified as Priya, 26, a native of Coimbatore, she had married software engineer Murugesan, 34, two years ago. The couple has a one-year-old son, police said.Investigations revealed that the couple used to have frequent arguments ever since they got married. The man had been demanding dowry from her and had restricted her from visiting her parents and had even allegedly abused her physically, police sources added.
On Saturday night, the couple had an argument after which she consumed poison and was lying unconscious when she was rushed to a private hospital in Thiruvan­miyur, where she died.

Chennai: Relatives of 10-year-old Nitish allege that the boy died on Saturday evening due to wrong treatment given to him at a private hospital in Tiruvottiyur. Nitish had slipped and fallen in his school last Tuesday.
“Teachers at the school asked him to do some exercise so that he could walk normally, but he was not able to do so. His mother Shyamala took him to a nearby clinic. The doctor referred him to an orthopedic, who after an x-ray said the boy suffered from mild air crack in his right thigh,” said Nitish's cousin Ashwin.
Though the doctor treated him for the air crack and gave antibiotics Nitish was suffering from severe pain. “We took him again to the doctor who referred him to an orthopedic and finally we admitted him to Sugam Hospital in Tiruvottiyur.
He developed some allergy due to antibiotics. He was admitted in the hospital on Saturday morning. I met him at 4 pm and he spoke well. But by 6 pm doctors said he was very critical and asked us to take him to any other hospital.
We called the ambulance but found that he was already dead,” added Ashwin. Relatives gathered in front of the hospital on Saturday night, but police intervened and sent the body for postmortem.
“Doctors said the boy suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest. We did not get a proper answer from the hospital authorities,” claimed relatives.
When contacted, a public relation officer at the hospital said the death was due to cardiac arrest. Doctors were not available for comment.
