CPM for ‘strong action’ on tainted Kerala leader

The CPI(M) central committee has asked the state unit to take strong action on Mr P. Sasi, the former Kannur district secretary, who is facing allegations of sexual misconduct.
The senior CPI(M) leaders, Mr Paloli Mohammed Kutty, and Mrs P.K. Sreemathy, disclosed this on Sunday.
Mr Mohammed Kutty told mediapersons that the next state committee meeting of the CPI(M) will take action against Mr Sasi. “The central committee has cleared the action against him,” he said. The veteran leader said that nobody in the party was trying to protect Mr Sasi and added that the Kannur leader was facing allegations of misbehaving with a woman.
Likewise, CPI(M) leader and former health minister, Mrs P.K.Sreemathy, also said that he party would take action on Mr Sasi soon.
“The CPI(M) takes allegations of immoral behaviour seriously,” she said. “A commission deputed by the party has already looked into the allegations against him and have made recommendations to the central committee. Action will definitely be taken.” Answering a question, Mrs Sreemathy said those who had complained against Mr Sasi had approached only the party and not the law and order authorities.
