Court rejects CBI report in Sachan case
The CBI suffered a major setback Friday when a CBI special court here rejected its closure report into the alleged murder of former Lucknow deputy CMO Y.S. Sachan.
The CBI had claimed Dr Sachan, one of the key accused in the multi-crore NRHM scam, was mysteriously found dead inside Lucknow Jail on June 22, 2011.
Dr Sachan’s body had eight major cuts and was found hanging by a belt inside an unused jail toilet.
His widow Malti Sachan, challenging the closure report, said her husband was apparently murdered. She said he wrote a letter to her from jail fearing he might get killed, but the CBI didn’t probe this aspect.
