Court order to shift Maderna, Bishnoi
A local court on Monday has ordered to shift suspended Congress legislators Mahipal Maderna and Malkhan Singh Bishnoi from Jodhpur to Jaipur and Ajmer respectively. The court passed this order when the prosecution questioned their stay at private hospitals in Jodhpur. Mr Maderna and Mr Bishnoi, both arrested over the abduction and murder of nurse Bhanwari Devi, argued that they were under treatment for various ailments. But the court observed that if needed, they can be treated in Jaipur and Ajmer.
The CBI raised the point before the court and said that if they have any health issues, there were hospitals in Jaipur and Ajmer. Both of them were shifted from Jodhpur to Jaipur and Ajmer last year when the agency made a request. The CBI argued that both the politicians had managed to stay in Jodhpur for a long time pretending to be sick.
The defence contested the CBI’s argument and said both have several ailments, including slip disc and gallbladder stone. But CBI lawyer Ashok Joshi argued that there were well equipped hospitals in Jaipur and Ajmer and they can be cured accordingly.
