Cops tow away kid with the car
The Delhi traffic police, always enthusiastic about towing your vehicle if you are illegally parked, on Sat-urday towed away a car along with a three-year-old girl left asleep inside by her parents, who had gone to buy medicines near Walia Nursing Home in Laxmi Nagar.
A police official in the tow vehicle saw a red car — DL 7C 4315 — parked outside Walia Nursing Home, in a no-parking zone in Vikas Marg, and towed it away to Shakarpur police station at around 1 pm, the police said. After a few minutes, when the car owner, Mr Anil Bedi, and his wife Minu returned to where they had parked, they saw that their car and three-year-old daughter were missing. Shocked, the couple asked people standing nearby if they knew what had happened. Mr Bedi called the police control room and narrated the incident. Passersby told the couple their car would be at Shakarpur police station. They rushed there to find their daughter crying profusely. “A showcause not-ice has been issued to the official (constable Rakesh Kumar) who was present there,” said a senior police official.
“A man from the crowd said he saw a red car being towed away by traffic officials,” said Mr Bedi.
