Cops to file 4th chargesheet soon
The Delhi police will most likely file the fourth chargesheet in the 2008 cash-for-vote scam case, in which Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh is one of the accused. The city police on Friday told the court of special judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal that it will file another supplementary chargesheet in the case after the court asked it to supply the transcriptions of the CD, its FSL report and other relevant documents as sought by the accused.
“File a reply on this application (under Section 207). Provide all the transcriptions. BJP MP Ashok Argal says some papers have got intermixed. The IO should spend half-an-hour on it today and see if the problem can be sorted out or give them fresh set of documents. Mirror images (of the CD) should be provided to Amar Singh and Argal,” Judge Dhingra said.
Advocate Anil Soni, who is the counsel for former BJP MP Faggan Singh, had moved an application seeking some additional documents and said they have not received all the documents, transcripts of the CD. The application also sought call details of Amar Singh. Public prosecutor Rajiv Mohan said the transcripts of the CD cannot be filed as a loose document and therefore, it may be filed in form of another supplementary chargesheet and clarified that it has got nothing to do with the probe in the case.
The court directed the police to supply the documents to the accused by the next hearing on April 30.
The court also asked the police to file its reply on the application by the next date of hearing. It was on the issue of submitting the transcripts of the CD that the public prosecutor said they (the police) might file it by way of another supplementary chargesheet.
