Cong leader shot dead in Amethi, BSP man suspect
Lucknow, May 4: A Congress leader in Amethi was gunned down late on Monday night, allegedly by a BSP MLA’s henchmen.
Rajjan Shukla was returning home around 10 pm when unidentified assailants shot him point blank in the head when he was half a
kilometer from his house at Patkhauli village in the Munshiganj police circle.
Sultanpur SP Satyendra Veer Singh said Shukla’s family had earlier filed an FIR against “unidentified” assailants, but in a later complaint named Chandra Prakash Misra, BSP MLA from Gauriganj, and three of his aides.
Shukla, who was a BSP supporter before joining the Congress, called a relative just before being shot and said some men were following him and he feared he would be killed.
