Cong launches FIR campaign on orissa BJD govt
The Opposition Congress on Tuesday decided to launch an “FIR campaign” against the BJD government in Orissa, accusing it of diverting 10kg of rice meant for supply under the public distribution system (PDS) to the BPL families.
“Today, we launched FIR campaign by filing cases in all the police stations across the state opposing distribution of 25kg of rice among below poverty line (BPL) families instead of 35kg,” Orissa Pradesh Congress Committee president Jaydev Jena said.
Mr Jena, who led the campaign in Cuttack, alleged that the party was forced to go to the police as the state government refused to go by the Central guidelines on distribution of PDS rice among BPL families.
