CM launches 16 new Mee Seva services
Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy launched 16 new Mee Seva services on Friday, taking the total number of services being offered to 56.
The Mee Seva has now crossed one crore transactions since its launch in November 2011 in Chittoor district.
IT minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah said a total of 5,500 Mee Seva centres were currently operating across the state and 400 more expected soon. The minister said that since 85 percent of the people in the state were using mobile phones, sending a mobile service message will be soon incorporated with the service. For this the IT department has already tied up with telecom giant Airtel, he said, adding that efforts were underway to connect the 25,000 gram panchayats with the optical fibre broadband.
“With the new launch, the department is expecting one lakh service applications per day, an upgradation from the current 70,000 applications per day. The aim is to upgrade to 100 services under Mee Seva within three months,” said the CM, speaking at the Mee Seva commemoration event held at the Jubilee Hall.
On the occasion, the CM inaugurated a Mee Seva electronic display board at the main gate of Secretariat showing the number of transactions live recorded in Mee Seva that also shows the day-to-day updates. Mee Seva Awards 2013 were given to officers and kiosk owners who have rendered exemplary services.
