Clash of the titans

Come September and the true meaning of the word “catfight” will be revealed. For three of Bollywood’s most talented actresses will be battling it out for box office supremacy with their pet projects. The actresses in question are Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta. The interesting point here of course is that while Bebo is now the leading actress in B’town, both Preity and Rani have tasted that success only to have it slip away.
“With Preity’s Iskq in Paris being confirmed for a September release, this now means that Kareena’s Heroine and Rani’s Aiyya now have another competitor in the fray,” points out an industry analyst. “It will be interesting to have three women centric films at the box office in consecutive weeks.”
With women-oriented films doing well in the recent past thanks to Vidya Balan’s efforts, all three films should have a good shot at hitting the target. “Also, it will be interesting to note if the former queens Preity and Rani will be able to give Kareena a run for her money,” a noted critic said. Oh, wouldn’t we like to see how that little
contest plays out...
