Chopper service being planned on Delhi-Mathura-Agra route
The Union government with the support of Uttar Pradesh tourism department is planning to connect Delhi with neighbouring cities like Agra, Mathura and Vrindavan through chopper services to boost tourism.
CMD of state-run helicopter firm Pawan Hans Helicopter Limited (PHHL), Anil Srivastava, along with senior officials of state tourism department on Friday inspected three proposed locations for helipads at Vrindavan.
Tourism department records reveal that around 8 lakh pilgrims who can afford chopper service visit Vrindavan each year, Srivastava said.
Efforts are also being made to provide helicopter service on the route for medical emergencies, he said, adding that several hospitals of Delhi and NCR have been contacted to provide immediate medical attention to any patient brought from Mathura and Agra.
