Centre plans to invite all in Kashmir for dialogue
The Centre has decided to extend an invitation to all shades of opinion in Jammu and Kashmir, including the Hurriyat Conference, to hold talks aimed at resolving the Kashmir issue and restoring peace in the Valley. J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah had recently asked the Central leadership to initiate a political dialogue with all shades of opinion in the state following violent protests by separatist groups in Kashmir.
Separate invitations are expected to be issued to each small and major group, including both factions of the Hurriyat, to hold meetings with Central leaders, including home minister P. Chidambaram, asking them to express their views on issues concerning Kashmir.
