CCS to probe Suri murder case
Investigations into the killing of Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri, key suspect in the murder of TDP MLA Paritala Ravi, has been transferred to the Central Crime Station (CCS), a wing of city police that probes high-profile crime cases.
"The probe into Suri's murder will be conducted by the CCS," a senior police official said on Tuesday on the condition of anonymity.
Suri, a factional leader, was shot dead by unidentified persons in his car at Yousufguda here on Monday, the police said.
After his autopsy at the Osmania General Hospital here, the body of the 39-year-old was handed over to his family members.
Forensic Dr Narayana Reddy, who was among the team who conducted autopsy, told PTI that Suri died on the spot after two bullets pierced his head, damaging brain and spinal cord. There was a gap of eight inches between the bullets, he said.
Meanwhile, the police reportedly picked up three persons, including Suri's close aide Bhanu, for interrogation. Bhanu was travelling in the same car and disappeared after the incident. The driver rushed Suri to Apollo hospital.
The Police sources said it was suspected that Bhanu, who was seated in the rear, had used a gun, fitted with a silencer to shoot Suri.
