CBSE results: Girls still shine brightest
Once again, the girls outshone boys in the Class 12 Central Board of Secondary Education results declared on Monday. The results were declared across the country on Monday except Patna region, with the total pass percentage standing at 81.71 per cent, an increase of 1.84 per cent over last year. Result for Patna region will be declared on May 27.
According to the CBSE, girls fared better than boys with 86.93 per cent of them girls clearing the exam as compared to only 77.83 per cent boys. Chennai was declared the best region with a pass percentage of 91.32 while Guwahati got the dubious distinction of students with maximum number of compartments. Delhi stood third with a pass percentage of 85.45
The CBSE also said that pass percentage of regular students stood at 83.66 as compared to 45.41 in the case of private or patrachar candidates.
In Delhi, the overall pass percentage stood at 85.45 per cent. Girls fared much better than the boys with 89.72 per cent clearing the exam as against 81.58 per cent of boys.
Among the educational institutions, students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya did well with 96.89 per cent of them passing the exam. The pass percentage of schools under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was at 93.38. The pass percentage of government schools stood at 83.98 while that of government-aided schools was 79.54. The private schools registered a pass percentage of 45.41.
The schools under Delhi region were asked to collect the results from the office of the respective deputy director of education, Delhi, after 2 pm on Monday.
