CBI will grill Jagan Mohan in illegal assets case
Based on the documentary evidence gathered so far, the CBI is ready to interrogate the Kadapa MP and YSR Congress chief, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, his auditor, Vijay Sai Reddy, and the businessmen, Nimmagadda Prasad, P. Pratap Reddy, A.K. Dandamudi, and other individuals named as accused in the illegal assets case.
Several IAS officials who were holding key positions in industries, mining and other related departments will also be questioned regarding their roles in the case.
CBI sources said that there was enough evidence to prove that former chief minister YSR had violated several norms during allotments of lands, projects, mining leases and Special Economic Zones. They added that raids on the companies in the past few days had yielded vital evidence regarding investments, irregularities and missing resolutions.
When asked about interrogating the accused, the CBI joint director, V.V. Lakshminarayana, said, “The next step of the investigation is questioning the accused and key people involved.”
Meanwhile, in the Emaar case, the former APIIC MD, B.P. Acharya, the Emaar Hills Township Private Limited (EHTPL) head of finance, Vijaya Raghavan and Koneru Prasad of Stylish Homes are likely to be summoned.
