CBI quizzes Raja 3rd time for 8 hrs
The CBI on Monday questioned former telecom minister A. Raja in connection with its probe into the 2G spectrum scam.
Mr Raje was questioned for the third time by the CBI at the agency headquarters. According to sources, he was grilled by the agency officials for nearly eight hours.
Earlier, Mr Raja was questioned by the CBI on December 24 and December 25, 2010.
Sources said he was asked about his conversations with corporate lobbyist Niira Radia and the reasons of advancing the cut-off date of allocation of the spectrum in 2007. He may be called for the questioning again, they added.
“Mr Raja was also confronted with certain specific questions related to alleged favour given to some private telecom companies who were in the race of 2G allotment. He was also asked specific questions about the role played by the corporate lobbyist Niira Radia during 2G allotment,” sources said.
Sources said CBI officials asked questions related to his equations with former Trai chairman Pradip Baijal.
