CBI to question Kalmadi again
The CBI is all set to question sacked chairman of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, Mr Suresh Kalmadi, in connection with irregularities committed in several CWG-related contracts next week.
According to sources Mr Kalmadi is likely to be questioned by the agency in connection with alleged irregularities in CWG contracts related to catering, overlays, sponsorship and ticketing. Sources further said the agency may make some ‘significant arrests’ in connection with its probe related to the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) held in London last year.
The agency’s probe into the alleged irregularities in connection with the contracts related to QBR, in which two FIRs have been registered, has revealed that Mr Kalmadi allegedly took financial decisions without taking the approval of the executive board.
