CBI officials to escort Koneru Rajendra Prasad to Sabarimala
The Central Bureau of Investigation will be keeping a close watch on Koneru Rajendra Prasad, one of the accused in the Emaar scam, during his visit to Sabarimala as part of the Ayyappa Swamy Deeksha.
The Special Judge for CBI cases, Mr B. Naga Maruthi Sharma, on Wednesday permitted a memo filed by the CBI seeking the court’s nod to send one of its constables along with the accused to ensure he doesn’t use a mobile phone or attempt contact with others by any means.
CBI constable M. Rayapa Raju will accompany Koneru Prasad, at the expense of the CBI.
He is in addition to three other security personnel from the Chanchalguda Central Prison who will be escorting Koneru Prasad.
The CBI court had earlier granted Koneru Prasad an interim bail till November 22.
In its memo, CBI officials told the court that Koneru Prasad was an important person in the case and it is essential to prevent him from engaging in any communication or meeting other people during the bail period.
