CBI likely to send team to MP
After announcing a cash reward of Rs 10 lakhs each on providing information leading to the arrest of Sandeep Dange and Ramchandra Kalsangra in connection with the investigation into the Mecca Masjid blast case 2007, the CBI is likely to send a team to Madhya Pradesh again for collecting files related to the murder of Sunil Joshi, the alleged mastermind of the Ajmer blast.
Sources in the agency said that mystery behind Joshi’s murder would further help the agencies in solving Ajmer, Mecca Masjid and Malegaon blasts cases. The anti-terrorist squad of Rajasthan, as well as the CBI, want to know the reasons behind the mysterious murder of Sunil Joshi. Joshi was shot dead by some unidentified persons at Dewas in MP on December 29, 2007. Sources alleged that the Madhya Pradesh police was not cooperating with the Rajasthan ATS and central investigating agency. Earlier, a team of officials of the Rajasthan ATS and central investigating agencies had been sent to Indore in connection with the investigation.

Subsidy on education loans soon

June 24: In an effort to implement Centre’s much-awaited education loan subsidy scheme, the Union human resources development ministry has finalised the scheme to provide full interest subsidy on the loans taken by students whose parental income is below Rs 4.5 lakhs.
The government will subsidise the loans for students pursuing technical and professional courses from the academic year 2009-10.
Sources stated that the format for the scheme was finalised after a meeting between the human resource development ministry ministry and the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA). “The scheme provides interest subvention to students for the period of their course. The interest for this period will be paid to the banks by the government,” sources stated.
Canara Bank has been finalised as the nodal bank for IBA member banks to claim the subsidy amount reimbursement. The scheme, which was approved by the Cabinet in 2009, provides interest subvention to students with annual family income below Rs 4.5 lakhs for the period till there course finishes.
