CBI to grill Raja today
Dec. 22: The CBI is likely to question the former telecom minister, Mr A. Raja, in a day or two in connection with its probe into the 2G spectrum scam. The agency had questioned corporate lobbyist, Ms Niira Radia, in connection with its probe into the 2G scam on Tuesday.
According to sources, Mr Raja’s questioning may start at CBI’s headquarters on Thursday also. “If Raja is not questioned tomorrow, then he will be asked to appear before CBI officials on Friday,” sources added.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is also probing 2G scam, too is planning to question Mr Raja very soon and may do so after the CBI grills the former telecom minister.
A notice under Section 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) has already been sent to Mr Raja to appear before it for questioning either on Thursday or on Friday.
Mr Raja is expected to reach Delhi on Wednesday night. In Chennai, before leaving for the national capital, Mr Raja reportedly told reporters that he would be in Delhi for two-three days and would cooperate with the investigating agency.
