CBI focuses on SMSes, calls

Still looking for crucial evidence that could take them to the killers more than two years after the death of Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj in Noida, the CBI, probing the double murder case, is now concentrating its investigation on the SMSes and the call details of the mobile phones of the two deceased.

Officials feel that it may provide certain clues to the agency as to what all the deceased discussed on phone before the incident and who were the persons who contacted the two before their deaths.
According to sources, on May 15, 2008, a day before Aarushi, daughter of dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, was murdered, Aarushi received three SMSes on her mobile phone (No. 9910520630) bearing EMI No. 354568012881110. While the first SMS was received at 12.24 pm, the second message was received at 1.08 pm on May 15 by Aarushi, sources said. She received the last SMS at 6.32 pm on the same day. Aarushi was found murdered in her Noida house on May 16, 2008.
“These three SMSes are being again verified by the investigating officials. Besides, CBI officials are also probing other SMSes which were received on Aarushi’s phone on May 14, 13 and 12, 2008. At least two messages were received on May 14, while Aarushi received a total of five SMS on May 13,” sources said.
Besides, officials are scrutinising four SMSes which were sent by Aarushi to a specific number of May 13, sources added.
Further, on May 15 Aarushi had received a call at 6.34 pm from a specific number which lasted around 220 seconds. Besides, two calls which were received by Aarushi at 7.48 pm and 8.32 pm, respectively, on May 14, 2008, are also part of the investigation, sources said. The CBI officials are also scrutinising the call details of Hemraj, servant of Aarushi, who too was found dead on the terrace of Talwar’s house. Agency has recollected call details of Hemraj from May 1, 2008 to May 17, 2008.
Investigating officials are hopeful that scrutiny of the call details of both deceased may provide certain clues to the CBI, sources added.
