CBI in a fix over video recording
The Central Bureau of Investigation is in a fix over video recording of the questioning of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, accused in the alleged illegal investments case.
Defence counsels for Jagan Mohan Reddy and Nimmagadda Prasad nailed CBI claims of non-cooperation during the investigation.
They have asked the CBI to produce the video recording in court to support their claims.
Interestingly, the counsels of the CBI are silent about it. The CBI recorded the questioning of Jagan for three days at Dilkusha Guest House and Nimmagadda Prasad for ten days as they are both accused in high profile cases. The CBI claimed to have arrested Jagan for not cooperating in the investigation and giving evasive replies.
However, Jagan’s counsels termed it a wild allegation and said Jagan was cooperating and challenged the CBI to produce the video recording to prove the allegations.
Similarly, in the case of Nimmagadda Prasad, too, the CBI claimed that he was taking unusually long to answer.
However, defence counsels asked CBI to produce the video recording in court. For now the ball is in CBI’s court.
