Car explosion: Krishna speaks to Israeli FM, says probe on

In the wake of an explosion in a car belonging to the Israeli embassy here, External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna on Monday spoke to his Israeli counterpart and told him that a probe had begun and the law of the land will take its course.

He also assured Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman that he would keep him posted on the progress in the probe.

"I have just spoken to the Israeli foreign minister and assured him that the law of the land will take its course," Krishna told reporters hours after the incident.

"The investigation has started. We will keep him posted on the progress in the investigation," Krishna said after his talks with Lieberman.

A car belonging to the Israeli embassy was gutted after an explosion Monday afternoon in a high-security zone in the Indian capital, not far from the residence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Four people, including the wife of an Israeli diplomat, were injured, police said.

The special cell of the Delhi Police is probing the incident.
