C’garh to approach Nasa over Bastar ‘alien’ link
The Chhattisgarh archaeological department has decided to approach National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) to study “if aliens have any links with Bastar,” following a recent sensational discovery of a pre-historic rock painting in the area featuring an image resembling the Unidentified Flying Object (UFO).
“We have discovered a rock painting dating back to 8,000- 10,000 BC in the remote tribal village of Chandeli under Charam block in Bastar’s Kanker district on January 6, 2013. What stunned us was an image in the panting resembling an UFO. We now relate to another pre-historic rock painting found at Gatitola, barely 15 km away, in 2005. The Gatitola painting depicted figures resembling aliens,” archaeologist and deputy director of Chhattisgarh archaeological department J.R. Bhagat, who explored the Chandeli rock painting, told this newspaper exclusively here on Friday.
The Chandeli rock painting, drawn by presumably hematite stones abundantly available in the locality, portrayed a flying disc connected to a rotor, a rotor blade, and a moving cap with a mast. The flying disc lands on the surface with support of three legs.
“Preliminary analysis of the rock painting done on the basis of relative dating indicates that the art may date back to 8,000-10,000 BC. We are sending samples to Rock Art Society of India (RACI), Agra, for further research on it”, Mr Bhagat disclosed. Another pre-historic rock painting depicting palm of a hand was also found at Mohapur. Interestingly, according to him, the local folktales and folklores also mention about aliens.
