BSY moves HC for bail
Taking no chances, former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Tuesday moved the high court to quash the FIR filed by Lokayukta,
and seeking anticipatory bail in Upper Bhadra project case.
He also filed another anticipatory bail application in connection with denotification of a land at Arakere village case.
Mr Yeddyurappa filled the application in connection with FIR filed by Lokayukta on August 10, a case relating to alleged kickbacks received to
allot tender to highest bidder for works in the Upper Bhadra project. The Lokayukta special court had permitted investigation by its police on
August 8 on a complaint filed by JDS general secretary Y.S.V. Datta.
Apart from seeking to quash FIR, he has also moved an application in the Upper Bhadravathi for anticipatory bail. Further, in another application
he has sought for anticipatory bail with regard to the private compliant number three, wherein it is alleged that Mr Yeddyurappa issued orders for
denotification of 2 acres 5 guntas of land at Arakere village from acquisition and allegedly received a kickback of `25.39 crores.
The Lokayukta court had issued summons to Mr Yeddyurappa on August 8 asking him to appear before the court in person on August 27.
