BSY lauds Sonia, slams partymen

Two days after the Supreme Court ordered a CBI probe against him, former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Sunday stunned both his partymen in the BJP and the Opposition Congress by praising party president Sonia Gandhi for standing by her colleagues in troubled times.
Speaking at a function organised by Basava Samithi at Devasandra in the city, Mr Yeddyurappa said he had observed Mrs Gandhi, when she visited Tumkur recently to participate in the Guruvandana programme of the Siddaganga Math seer. “She spent time with her party leaders. I have noticed that Congress leaders are united and supportive, if any of their members is in trouble. They help each other and resolve the problem. They will not say that the court will take care of everything and just sit back,” he remarked. “However, BJP leaders are not like that. They will wait for a person to get into trouble and pull him down. They try to pull the chair from beneath him and seize his position,” he lamented.

Ruling BJP leaders were involved in a hot chase on Sunday to catch up with former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa who remained elusive even as he fired volleys at the BJP leadership, especially chief minister Sadananda Gowda.
Finally, party state president K.S. Eshwarappa and other leaders managed to meet him at his Dollars Colony residence but could get little out of the meeting. Mr Eshwarappa put up a brave front saying the crisis would be resolved in a day or two.
When Mr Yeddyurappa was asked about this, he just laughed and said: “Oh! Did he say that?” Hectic political activity began on Saturday when Mr Yeddyurappa reportedly refused to take a call from senior leader Arun Jaitley. Sources said Mr Jaitley tried calling up Mr Yeddyurappa on Sunday morning too.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
