BSY, HDK both flouted the rules
Fresh documents with this newspaper indicate successive CMs misused discretionary powers to acquire prime land, ignoring the rulebook. One set of documents shows how Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa allotted nine plots in prime locations worth `20 crores to his sister and his astrologer Lakshman Pooj-ari.
Other documents point to H.D. Kumaraswamy: as CM he denotified 180 acres in favour of Viswabharathi Housing Cooperative Society. Within days, his wife Anita Kumaraswamy got a 16,500 sq ft plot for `14 lakhs, against a market value of `8.25 crores. She was forced to return it later.
