BSY gold collection sees ‘growth’ after 2008 polls
Bengaluru, Feb. 6: Facing allegations of land grab and amassing of wealth since coming to power, the Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa, on Sunday made details of his assets public in a declaration on Saturday submitted to the BJP president, Mr Nitin Gadkari.
According to the statement released to the media, Mr Yeddyurappa has `33.43 lakh in cash, miscellaneous assets worth `10.45 lakh, two cars, 2.59 kg of gold (worth `5.3 lakh), 76 kg of silver (`33.7 lakh), 4 agricultural properties of 18.23 acres in Shikaripura, 4 sites and two houses in Shikaripura, a house in Bengaluru, 9.12 acres of industrial land, 320 shares, and two life insurance policies worth `1.7 lakh.
Interestingly, Mr Yeddyurappa’s cash holding has increased from `8.52 lakh in 2008 to `33.43 lakh in 2011, his gold has risen from 1.6 kg in 2008 to 2.59 kg in 2011, and silver from 25 kg in 2008 to 76 kg in 2011.
The previous declaration of assets was made in April 2008 when Mr Yeddyurappa filed his income and liabilities affidavit before the Election Commission, during filing of nominations for the Assembly elections.
