BSP to prepare list of atrocities

Former UP chief minister Mayawati has directed her party leaders to prepare a list of atrocities being committed on dalits during the Samajwadi Party regime.
The BSP president, while addressing party coordinators, leaders, legislators and MPs at different sessions in the two-day party conference that ended here on Wednesday, has asked partymen to keep track of the harassment of poor and deprived sections of the society by members of the ruling Samajwadi Party.
Ms Mayawati, apparently, wants her party workers to do their homework and prepare for an agitation which the party plans to hold after a few months.
Ms Mayawati has also constituted Bhaichara committees to bring Muslims, OBCs and Brahmins back into the BSP fold. The convenors of these committees this time will be leaders of Muslim, OBCs and Brahmin communities but a dalit leader will function as a co-convenor to ensure that dalit interests are not compromised with.
The Brahmin Bhaichara committee is headed by Mr Satish Chandra Misra and former minister Ramvir Upadhyay while the Muslim Bhaichara committee is headed by BSP MP Salim Ansari and the OBC Bhaichara committee will be headed by state BSP president Swami Prasad Maurya.
