BSP, BJP slam Rahul’s yatra

The BSP and BJP reacted sharply to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s padyatra. The BSP even and termed it as a “nautanki”.

BSP state president Swami Prasad Maurya told reporters in Lucknow that the Congress had been repeatedly trying to create disorder by undertakin g such activities. “Anyone who dares to violate the law will have to face consequences. The Congress nautanki will not serve any purpose because the party has no presence left in UP,” he said.
The BJP also reacted to Mr Gandhi’s padyatra. BJP national vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi termed Mr Gandhi’s yatra as a “photo session programme”. He said it is an “irony” that while the Congress attacks the UP government, it seeks the BSP’s help in maintaining numerical superiority in Parliament.
