Boy injured in celebratory firing

An eight-year-old boy was injured in celebratory firing at a birthday party at Gurunanak Pura in the district, police said on Saturday. The incident occurred when birthday party of five-year-old Andesh's was being celebrated on Friday evening at Modinagar. One of the relatives of Andesh fired a shot which hit the minor boy Narang, who was sitting in the lap of his mother and watching the function from a roof of his house, they said.

Narang was rushed to a hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger.

No arrest has been made in this regard, police said, adding, efforts are on to nab the accused.
