UP boy dies in Kenya attack
An eight-year-old boy from Uttar Pradesh is among the victims of the terror attack at a shopping mall in Kenyan capital Nairobi.
Pramanshu Jain hails from Lalitpur in the Bundelkhand area and was killed in the terror attack on Saturday, his uncle Harsh Kumar Jain told reporters. Pramanshu’s father Manoj Kumar Jain works for the Bank of Baroda, and was shifted to Indore on a transfer a few years back.
The family says that he was later promoted as branch manager to Nairobi two months back and the family had gone to the Westgate Mall on Saturday with a woman bank employee.
Minutes after the family in Nairobi went inside the Westgate Mall, terrorists stormed the mall and started lobbing hand grenades and firing indiscriminately.
Pramanshu was killed on the spot, his mother Mukta and sister Poorvi, 13, were hit by bullets in their legs and hands. Both are admitted in a Nairobi medical facility.
The woman bank employee accompanying the Jain family is also dead and their driver is still missing, the family members said.
