Bomb found near FCI godown, minister’s residence

A 10-kg bomb planted by insurgents was found near a godown of Food Corporation of India (FCI) and private residence of a Manipur minister in Imphal's west district, officials said on Tuesday.

The IED was found near the FCI godown area at Sangai pouro, near Imphal airport, at around 10.30 PM on Monday, official sources said.

The device, fitted with a timer, was later defused, they said. The place from where the IED was recovered is 100 metres from the private residence of Manipur Health Minister T. Phungzathang.
