Boat capsizes, 8 go missing
At least people, including two children, on Sunday went missing when the boat they were travelling in capsized in Kolab reservoir in Koraput district, nearly 570 km from here. According to the police, the boat carrying 12 people from Pujariput village under Lamtaput block was on its way to Jolahonjar, about 60 km from here, when it lost balance and sunk in the reservoir.

Militant arms dump found

May 8: The Army on Sunday said it has, in a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir police, unearthed an arms dump of separatist militants in Haftrada woods in frontier district of Kupwara.
A defence spokesperson here said that 6 and 7 Rashtriya Rifles and the local police, following a tip-off relocated to the dense forest area deep inside Kupwara and found large quantity of weapons, ammunition.

Leopard siblings ‘write to mother’

May 8: They may be animals but on mother’s day, they “wrote” letters of gratitude to their “mothers” who had adopted them.
To begin with, Ashoka and Nakshatra, two-year old leopard siblings expressed their gratitude through a letter to actor Dia Mirza who has adopted them. The zoo administration sent the letters on behalf of the animals to all women who have adopted them.

SC: Babri case hearing today
New Delhi, May 8: The Supreme Court will on Monday hear arguments in the Ramjanmbhoomi Babri Masjid title suit in which a bunch of petitions have been filed by various Muslim and Hindu groups challenging the Allahabad high court verdict.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the high court’s verdict of dividing the 2.77 acres of disputed site into three parts among Muslims, Hindus and Nirmohi Akhara, different religious groups have approached the top court. —PTI
