Black money: Hasan Ali gets bail as ED fails to slap case

A Mumbai sessions court on Friday granted conditional bail to tax evader Hasan Ali Khan on surety of Rs.75,000.

Justice M.L. Tahilyani said the Enforcement Directorate had failed to establish any case against Khan, who is accused of stashing away nearly $8 billion abroad.

Khan was arrested after prolonged searches at his Pune and Mumbai residences by ED sleuths under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and later told the court that he was 'innocent'.

"I am innocent...They are just putting me in trouble. I don't understand why," he has said.
