BJP targets youth to wean them away from Akhilesh
To counter UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav’s charisma among the youth, the Bharatiya Yuva Janata Morcha (BJYM) will use the latest technology and go online to woo the youth.
The BJYM activists will go from house to house to connect with the youth and then encourage them to join online through Facebook, Twitter and mobile applications.
Those who connect online with the BJYM will be conferred the title of “yuva mitra”.
According to BJYM national secretary Nitin Naveen, the UP chief minister has been trying to create an illusion of “all-is-well” by distributing laptops and tablets among the youth.
“The law and order situation is deteriorating, there is no employment and even the distribution of laptops is marked with irregularities. The unemployment allowa-nce is not available to every jobless youth. There is corruption in jobs and qualifying examinations. In short, the youth in Uttar Pradesh is in a state of despair,” he said.
The BJYM campaign titled “Judega Yuva Badlega Bharat” aims at enrolling one crore new members across the country and the party is obviously paying maximum attention to Uttar Pradesh where the youth will be the deciding factor in the Lok Sabha elections.
