BJP: Reject Pak talks till credible action
The main Opposition BJP on Wednesday asked government to build pressure on Pakistan on the issue of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, especially in the wake of revelation made by accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana. The party asked the government not to hold talks with Pakistan till it takes “credible action” to prevent terrorism from its soil targeted against India. The Congress, meanwhile, criticised the BJP and said it should introspect about its own track record.
Speaking on the issue, BJP national spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said India should “really capitalise” on this opportunity to expose on global fora the direct role of the Pakistan government in 26/11 attack.
“The BJP demands that India should not show any leniency till Pakistan accepts its responsibility, acts effectively against perpetrators of 26/11 attacks and dismantles the terror infrastructure. There should be no talks with Pakistan till it takes credible action against terrorists,” the BJP leader said.
Mr Javadekar said it is now evident that Pakistan’s ISI was “actually controlling and coordinating the attacks from the beginning till the end.”
