BJP rates Manmohan tenure at 25%
The BJP has said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh rating for his seven-year tenure in office was merely 25 per cent.
BJP president Nitin Gadkari said that the Prime Minister could not escape responsibility for rampant corruption in his government.
Mr Gadkari, while speaking at the BJP national executive here on Friday, asked, “If senior Congress leaders like Mani Shankar Aiyer and late Sunil Dutt had opposed the appointment of Suresh Kalmadi as head of the Indian Olympic association, then why was he appointed and who recommended his case? Why has no action been taken against Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit despite the Shunglu report?”
The BJP president accused the UPA government of misusing investigating agencies to target the BJP and divert attention and said that Karnataka and Gujarat were examples of this.
“Tu idhar-udhar ki na baat kar, bata ki karwan kahan luta? We want answer to specific questions of corruption and the Prime Minister owes it to the nation. Nearly 36 per cent of India is currently ruled by the BJP and its allies while the Congress rules over 31 per cent of the country. Surveys show that people are now getting inclined towards good governance and development which explains the popularity of BJP governments,” he said.
